Overview

This attendance policy outlines our employee attendance expectations and procedures. 

Tristar Transportation Co. values workers being present and on time because it helps our daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.  It is expected that drivers will schedule appointments outside of their scheduled work time.

This attendance policy does not include exceptions under the Family Leave Medical Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other protections provided by federal law. Those will be handled on a case-by-case basis, so speak with a manager as soon as you can if they apply to you

Reporting Absences, Tardiness, and Early Departures

Tristar Transportation Co. expects you to provide advance notice of planned absences, late arrivals, and early departures when possible. We also expect you to notify your manager as soon as you’re able when an emergency or illness prevents you from working as scheduled

There are two (2) types of absences, they are defined below:

Approved Absence:  Sufficient notice is given to the company by the employee and the             company has approved the request for time off.

  • In order to meet company needs we ask that all time off requests be submitted via the Time Off Request Form*. You should request these as far in advance as possible, but no later than 2 business days before taking off.

  • You must complete the Time Off Request Form, located on the driver portal for any and all time off requests. If it is within 2 days of the first date of your time off request, your request is subject to be denied pending availability to cover your route. After submitting this form you are still required to call the office to confirm it has been received and approved.  Any planned time off requests must be submitted 3 business days prior to the need for time off. 

  • PLEASE NOTE: If you have a barrier or special seating type required for your student (harness, special car seat, straps, etc), we may need to use your vehicle when covering your route. Please leave the keys above the visor in case we need to have a sub driver swap out the vehicle for special needs/requirements.

Office Hours: Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 6:00pm

Saturday - Sunday: CLOSED
